Are you suffering from Symptoms of Depression? Depression among adults in the United States tripled since the global coronavirus pandemic. The numbers jumped from 8.5 percent to 27.8 percent. That means that 32.8 percent are affected by depression.

Why are More Women more Prone than Men to suffer from symptoms of depression?

Depression rates in women are exceptionally high during significant life events that involve hormonal changes. Postpartum depression, which isn’t simply a case of the “baby blues,” is estimated to affect up to 15% of new moms; shifting hormone levels and other bothersome “change of life” symptoms also increase the risk of depression during menopause.

Many women work full-time and still take most of the responsibility at home, including caring for young children and older parents. Women can feel alone. So, depression in women is higher than in males suffering from depression.

What is Depression?

Depression symptoms are a feeling of extreme sadness, low mood, and hopeless feelings. The medical world calls depression a mental disease. You go to the doctor for depression, and they write prescriptions to elevate the serotonin when you show low serotonin symptoms. Medication can help temporarily, but it does not cure. The drug only masks the symptoms. There are reasons why a person suffers from depression.

Why Do People Struggle with Depression?

Biblically, the disease is spiritually rooted and comes from a breakdown in our relationship with God, ourselves, and/or others.

Sudden change, loss of a loved one suddenly. Unmanageable stress can cause depression.

Depression symptoms are a spiritual root issue. Did you know that the spiritual root is from conflict with self at the spirit and soul level that causes feelings of heaviness and oppression? When a child grows up not being appropriately loved or in a conditionally-loved home, they never feel good enough. That is the conflict. They become hard on themselves because of the lack of nurturing. They may feel like a failure. When this happens, then low self-esteem and depression. Some women and men struggle with guilt and shame from their past mistakes. They cannot forgive themselves, which causes the serotonin in the brain to dip into low levels causing depression.

Depression will lead to isolation and cause a person to withdraw from others. Then, draw them away from God so they cannot fellowship with Him in thankfulness and joy because the enemy has them fixated on everything wrong.

Some women are married and have to work, still care for the children, and run a home. The women struggle with loneliness and depression.

Another reason, the body is out of whack. For example, hypothyroidism is a hormone problem at the endocrine level. It could be from after birth, the postpartum depression because of the hormone imbalance after birth.

Since we are spiritual beings, other spirits are operating. Stress is a spirit of fear. When a person is under stress for an extended period, a spirit of fear manifests as stress and anxiety.

What is the Cure for Depression?

It is to forgive yourself for the past. Second, learn to love, forgive, and see who you are in Christ, that loves you so much. We have to choose to deal with these situations that are occurring to overcome depression symptoms.

It is essential to know that the Lord wants you to cast all your cares to Him - big or small. He cares about every detail of your life. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7 KJV. You are not alone in your depression. Jesus knows all about it.

It is finding your identity. If we know who we are as sons and daughters of God and can find our peace, rest, and safety in our loving Heavenly Father, the temporary circumstances of life will not be able to pull us down long-term. Knowing you are sons and daughters should help us combat depression and heaviness.

Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted, according to Luke 4:18. He came on earth and then left and gave the church the Holy Spirit to minister to others through His power.

Sometimes we need a little help. Some people have suffered horrific circumstances in life - losing a job, losing children because of a nasty divorce, losing their home. All this can cause extreme sadness and loneliness. No one should be coping with depression alone.

That's why Touch of God Int'l Ministries offers different routes to get help. We are a healing and deliverance ministry, but we are much more. We listen to the person's story and work with their issues for them to overcome. That's why we created Thrive Group Mentorship to overcome and not be alone with all the chaos in life.

Deliverance Prayer for Healing

Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we pray for those suffering from depression to be touched, feel good about themselves, and see his/her self-worth. We bind and break the spirits of depression, heaviness, oppression, self-esteem, self-bitterness, self-rejection, self-hatred, guilt, and fear and send these spirits to the dry places now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. We command the devil accusing him/her to stop and go to the dry places now. The devil is a liar.

You can do all things in Christ according to Scriptures

You are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. The King of Kings accepts you. Cast down every vain imagination that does not speak love in your mind or causes you to doubt or not feel good about yourself. In Hebrews, we are told in Hebrews 5:13 - 14 to get off the milk onto strong meat, discerning good and evil. Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is quick, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:13 "Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do." What are the creatures? The demonic spirits. What are fiery darts according to Ephesians 6:16 "Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one."

Training and Support

This is our Services section. This is a great place to give more information about the services we offer.

These are complex, confusing times, and though we know that our God is in control and will take care of us, we sometimes feel anxious and worried. We know that, as written in Philippians 4:6, prayer is the answer, but sometimes praying is complex, and you need someone to pray with you. If you need prayer, fill out the form, we pray weekly on Tuesday nights over your prayer request.
