A demon supposedly attending and obeying a witch, often said to assume the form of an animal.

"Her familiars were her two little griffons that nested in her skirts."

Those who practice sorcery or necromancy, who professed to call up the dead to answer questions, were said to have “familiar spirits.” No person was called up from the dead. They are familiar spirits that left a person and still roaming on the earth.

Familiar spirits and spirit guides are controlled by their master, Satan.

Many people believe when a loved one has died and visits them; it is a human being. The truth is it is a demonic spirit, acting as a familiar spirit to fool you. They influence people to spread lies and deceit to thwart the kingdom of God. To knowingly open oneself to the work of demons is an evil thing: "Let no one is found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.

(Deut. 18:11; 2 Kings 21:6; 2 Chr. 33:6; Lev. 19:31; 20:6; Isa. 8:19; 29:4).

Such a person was called by the Hebrews yid`onim, which properly means a leathern bottle; sorcerers were regarded as vessels containing the inspiring demon. This Hebrew word was equivalent to the python of the Greeks and was used to denote both the person and the spirit which possessed him (Lev. 20:27; 1 Sam. 28:8; comp. Acts 16:16). The word “familiar” is from the Latin familiar, meaning a “household servant,” and was intended to express the idea that sorcerers had spirits as their servants ready to obey their commands.

This is our Services section. This is a great place to give more information about the services we offer.

These are complex, confusing times, and though we know that our God is in control and will take care of us, we sometimes feel anxious and worried. We know that, as written in Philippians 4:6, prayer is the answer, but sometimes praying is complex, and you need someone to pray with you. If you need prayer, fill out the form, we pray weekly on Tuesday nights over your prayer request.
