We live in uncertain times, so 19 ways to keep the faith. Did you know there are over 100 wars in the world right now?
We are between two big wars (Ukraine and Israel) America is either involved or soon to become involved with Israel, and threats from Iran who wants to do a Jihad around the world to kill everyone who does not bow down to Allah. The Muslims, in the world rioting, demonstrations. $33,650 trillion dollars in American debt - $650 billion in 30 days. We are at no return. See debt clock.
“Jesus is our Prince of Peace. He wants to quiet your soul, comfort your heart, and buoy your spirit. Lather, rinse, and repeat in this: Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” What a powerful scripture and truth.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation.” He is light for a dark world and salvation for a lost world. Fear comes to rob us of peace, but Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and He drives out fear. So let me ask you: How’s your fear level? Anxiety level? Disappointment level? Uncertainty? Discouragement? Hopelessness? Turn to Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
How do we keep the faith during turbulent times? One is reading and studying God’s Word. Looking at the Word of God to Keep the Faith in Christ Jesus
First, we must look at what the Word of God is.
Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Through God's Word, we can distinguish between right and wrong.
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
So, the word is powerful and active. It brings life to us by not only dividing our soul, spirit, joints, and marrow - it gets into us. Becomes part of us. It is like a mirror looking into our soul. The Word quickens us to conviction to change.
When you look at the Tabernacle, there is furniture in the courtyard. One was the brazen alter. You cleanse yourself – the word cleanses us.
The Word of God, as a sword, pierces our souls to repentance.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
14 If the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
God is the Word – Jesus went through everything we went through. He can identify with us. He is a personal God, Jesus, part of the triune being.
When we read the Word, we read the spiritually inspired truth of the Word of God that does many things. It means the Word is alive – the Holy Spirit leads – to guide us. Feed our faith.
It renews our mind. In Romans 12:2
King James Version
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. If the house or village gave a girl a “treat,” the Druids put a pumpkin with a face carved in it in front of the door or gate of that place. Inside the pumpkin was a candle of human tallow to keep evil spirits away. Thus, the Jack-O-Lantern was and is a sign that you have cooperated with Satan.
It transforms us to have the mind of Christ—his heart and everything else.
When we read the scriptures (the sword, the divider), reading Jesus through the Holy Spirit gives us hope when there seems to be no hope.
Guard your thoughts, and watch what you allow yourself to see on TV. Watching the news can pull your spirit faster when it is all bad.
Trust God's plans for life, whether in good times or turbulent times. Trust Him completely. Proverbs 3:5-6 clarifies: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (NKJV).
A. W. Tozer said, “Attitude is all-important. Let the soul take a quiet attitude of faith and love toward God; from there on, the responsibility is God’s. He will make good on His commitments.” These words serve as a reminder that even when the day's challenges seem daunting, God remains steadfast.
When experiencing discouragement, exhaustion, or more, it’s time to ask what’s the matter and why?
Scripture says, “Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise—dwell on these things” (Philippians 4:8).
