Break Free from the Bastard Curse

In today’s world, spiritual battles often go unnoticed. Among the lesser-known generational curses is the Bastard Curse—a deeply rooted spiritual stronghold that affects many individuals and families, often without their awareness. This article explores the biblical foundation of the Bastard Curse, how to break free from the bastard curse, its manifestations, and the hope for healing and deliverance through Jesus Christ. If you've ever felt rejected, unworthy, or like you just don't fit in, this message may be for you.

What is the Bastard Curse?

The Bastard Curse is a spiritual consequence that takes root when a child is conceived or born out of wedlock. Scripture is clear about the generational impact of such conception:

Deuteronomy 23:2 (KJV): "A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord."

This scripture reveals the seriousness with which God views covenant relationships. A child conceived outside of marriage enters into the world with a spiritual disadvantage, not by their own doing, but because of the broken covenant of their parents.

Spiritual Implications - Break free from the bastard curse

In our ministry at Touch of God Healing and Deliverance, we frequently encounter

individuals battling deep-rooted spirits of rejection, fear, shame, and abandonment. Often, these emotional and spiritual wounds can be traced back to the Bastard Curse.

Children born outside of covenant may sense—even from the womb—that they are unwanted or shameful. They may internalize the sins or emotional turmoil of their parents. Many of these individuals grow up feeling they never quite belong, struggling to be loved, constantly seeking approval, and often falling into cycles of lust, addiction, and unhealthy relationships. It's not their fault.

Lust vs. Covenant

There is a marked difference between a child conceived in love within a covenant marriage and one created through lust or outside of God's order. A child born of lust may carry an additional burden of secrecy, shame, and guilt. These children often inherit not only the emotional baggage of their parents but also generational spirits that have plagued the family line.

Psalm 51:5 (KJV): "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me."

The pain of this curse is not just emotional or mental—it is spiritual. But God, in His mercy, provides a way out through repentance, forgiveness, and deliverance.

Breaking the Curse

The good news is that Jesus Christ came to set the captives free. Through His death and resurrection, we have access to healing, restoration, and spiritual freedom.

Galatians 3:13 (KJV): "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us."

If you believe you are affected by the Bastard Curse, here are steps to begin your healing journey:

  1. Forgive Your Parents: Acknowledge any bitterness or hurt you may carry toward your mother or father. Forgive them for the choices that led to your conception outside of marriage.

  2. Repent and Renounce: Repent of any sins tied to rejection, shame, fear, or lust. Renounce the Bastard Curse in the name of Jesus Christ.

  3. Claim Your Identity in Christ:

    • Romans 8:15 (KJV): "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father."

    • Proclaim that you are now a child of God, fully accepted and loved by the Father.

  5. Break the Curse Over Your Children: If you are a parent of a child born out of wedlock, it is vital to seek their forgiveness. Bless them with your words. Speak life over them and declare their identity in Christ.

Proverbs 18:21 (KJV): "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

Generational Healing

The Bastard Curse may stretch back multiple generations. But praise God, the power of Jesus' blood is greater than any curse. He can cleanse your bloodline, restore your family, and bring blessings where there was once destruction.

Exodus 20:6 (KJV): "And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments."

No matter your family history, healing is available. Jesus is willing and able to break every chain.

Final Thoughts

The enemy wants to keep you bound in shame, fear and insecurity, and spiritual isolation. But Jesus came to restore, redeem, and renew. You are not a mistake. You are not unwanted. In Christ, you are adopted, cherished, and called to a life of freedom.

Isaiah 61:1 (KJV): "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives..."

Take the first step today. Let go of the past, embrace your identity in Christ, and walk boldly into your healing and deliverance.
