Updated: May 6

Information from Be In Health by Dr. Henry Wright - Steps to Freedom - Walkout

8 steps to healing and wholeness - https://www.touchofgod.org/post/8-steps-to-freedom-and-healing

This is to walk out and maintain deliverance.

  1. RECOGNIZE - You must recognize the problem and the enemy

  2. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY - You must take responsibility for what you recognize

  3. REPENT - You must repent to God for participating in what you recognize

  4. RENOUNCE - You must make what you recognize as your enemy and renounce it

  5. REMOVE - Get rid of it once and for all

  6. RESIST - When it tries to come back, resist it

  7. REJOICE - Give God thanks for setting you free

  8. RESTORE - Help someone by restoring them

Below are the same 8 Steps to Freedom and Healing, but with scripture to explain/support them.

  1. Recognize - You must recognize the problem for the Steps to Freedom

We don't have to remember every sin or go back in time to relive each moment to be healed. As the Lord peels our "onions," we can recognize them as they come to mind. We have to acknowledge the sins in our lives—envy, jealousy, etc.

When the Lord reminds us of more of these sins, what? Then repeat the 8-step process.

You must have discernment -distinguishing good from evil. ~ You must not be afraid of evil. Evil is not more powerful than God! We must have knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge ties the past to the present, but Wisdom takes the present and moves it into the future. Isaiah 5:13 says,

13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

In Hosea 4:6, it says,

6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

In Hebrews 5:14, it says,

14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

2. Responsibility - Walkout

You must take responsibility for what you recognize. In 1 Corinthians 3:18, it says,

  • We can change -from glory to glory

  • No excuses, no denials

  • The buck stops here

  • There is no way out

18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

3. Repent

  • You must repent to God for participating in what you recognize.

  • We have to be the one who repents (change of heart) for the sin.

In Acts 3:19, it says,

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the

times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

In Ezekiel 18:30, it says,

Therefore I will judge you, 0 house of Israel, everyone according to his ways, saith the

Lord GOD.

In Nehemiah 9:2, it says,

2 And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and

confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.

  1. Renounce

We must recognize and renounce what we turn away from. Fall Out of agreement - Hate the sin, but love the sinner! Even if it is just a mustard seed

of love!

There are only two worlds -Good and Evil. God will not share us with evil! We have to take on the mind of Christ and see ourselves as God sees us. We need to have a point of reference -we must know God's love for us. If we don't know, we will self-destruct.

Take the log out of our eye before attempting to take the stick out of another's eye. We must develop a perfect hatred for the evil in our lives. Love ourselves, but hate the evil.

We must love our neighbor, but hate the evil. Separate others and ourselves from sin!

1 Corinthians 10:20-22, it says,

20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrificed, they sacrificed to devils, and

not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. 21 Ye cannot

drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's

table, and of the table of devils. 22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

  1. Remove

It is essential to cast down or remove the sin. Remove the temptation or the sin, such as rejection.  Casting down arguments in your mind that are against the truth of God's Word.  Casting down the demonic spirit of bitterness and choosing to be a doer of the word.

  • We must break all soul ties with those who are in bondage with us to get rid of the temptation to keep sinning.

  • It's not a game of confession; we must be serious about getting rid of the sin in our lives.

  • We must avoid and stay away from places that often lead to sin, such as bars and shopping areas, or any place that doesn't help you spiritually.

  • We must resolve  sin, and we aren't to exist in the same place at the same time

  • We must remove it, and it has to go!

In Matthew 4:1-10, it says,

1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. 4 But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. 5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 7 Jesus said to him, It is written again, You shall not tempt the LORD your God. 8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, All these things I will give You if You will fall and worship me. 10 Then Jesus said to him, Away with you, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.

Father God, remove the sin having been recognized, repented for, and renounced. Remove the sin from your life. Cast it out. In the spirit of__________________ , I have repented to my Father in heaven for serving you and allowing you to manifest through me. You must leave me and go into a dry place now in the name of Jesus. Now go.

  1. Resist:

Accusation will try to come back so resist it. That is why we need to discern good and evil. The Devil gives afflictions.

In Hebrews 5:13-14 it says,

"13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who because of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."   Again, resist and cast down the thought that is not from God.  If it does not speak love, then it is a thought projecting in your mind to get you to agree with it.

  • The enemy is going to try to get you to replay the bitterness or hurt so that He can come back like a flood.  Delivered people are given obligations for their deliverance. They must fill their hearts with the Word of God, must renew their minds, must change their ways. If they do these things, as many do, so relieved are they to be free from the darkness, there is no reason why they can't stay free.

  • As the Son has made them free.

  • Draw near to God and He will draw near to us.

  • We can't strong arm the enemy

  • This is continuous work, but it is worth it. Health and wellness will be normal!

  • Obedience is better than sacrifice!

In I Peter 5:6-9 it says, 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

In James 4:7, it says,

Submit yourselves therefore to god. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

In Luke 11:24, it says,

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he sayeth, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

In I Samuel 15:22-23 it says,

So Samuel said: “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king.”

  1. Rejoice - Thanksgiving is thanking God for what he has done. Praise is a warfare tool:

  • Have an attitude of Gratitude

  • Thank Him for every victory

  • Keep positive -glass half-full thinking

  • Take your peace and not Torment

In Isaiah 35:1, it says,

Give him thanks that pieces of dust like us can be redeemed for his glory. In Psalm 97:12, it says,

Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the rememberance of his holiness."

8. RESTORE -

We need to get involved and become proactive. Help someone else get free. Those you love, instructing those sinners that are separated from the refreshing of the Lord.

Healing will come faster when we take our eyes off ourselves and share what the Lord is doing in your life. In Isaiah 42:22, it says,

Isaiah 42:22 But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.

In Isaiah 58:7-12, it says,

7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? When thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? 8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward. 9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; 10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: 11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. 12And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

In Galatians 6:1-2, it says,

1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

In 1 Corinthians 12:25-26, it says,

25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. 26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

In Psalms 15:1-3, it says,

1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 2He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. 3He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

  • Fruit of Rejection or Different Diseases that Come out of Rejection:

  • Being a perfectionist in performance and working to be accepted by others, God, or oneself.

  • False Burden Bearing - helping others to feel better about themselves.

  • Loneliness and isolation

  • Loneliness leads to misery

  • Then it leads to self-pity, saying, "No one understands me."

  • Self-pity leads to depression - Moods of gloominess that settle down all over you. Everything feels dark and heavy.

  • Next, it leads to hopelessness - I may as well give up! Nothing is going to work.

  • Hopelessness leads to death or suicide. Our hearts can get so heavy that we bring on death. Suicide is more radical. It comes with statements like: "I might as well end it all! What's the use of living? There's nothing to live for."

  • As you can see, rejection can take away your life if you don't deal with it. It may be a seemingly slow process, but you can't let it progress and waste the life you were given to glorify God. Satan wants you to give up so that God does not use you.

  • Rejection can lead to self-rejection, self-hatred, and the roots of autoimmune diseases. As we begin to attack ourselves, the body does the same within. Autoimmune disorders are the body gone awry, attacking, destroying, and eating us alive in various degenerative and chronic diseases such as allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, lupus, multiple sclerosis, and many more.
