Who was the founder of this Modality?

Cranial osteopathy, a forerunner of CST, was originated by osteopath William Sutherland (1873–1954) in 1898–1900. While looking at a disarticulated skull, Sutherland was struck by the idea that the cranial sutures of the temporal bones where they meet the parietal bones were “beveled, like the gills of a fish, indicating articular mobility for a respiratory mechanism.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craniosacral_therapy

What was his/her spirituality?

New Age – your body can heal itself. You are your god.

What culture did it come out of?

“Cranial manipulation has been practiced in India for centuries and was also developed by the ancient Egyptians and members of the Paracus culture in Peru (2000 BC to 200 AD). Furthermore, in the 18th century, the philosopher and scientist Emmanuel Swedenborg described a rhythmic motion of the brain, stating that it moves with regular cycles of expansion and contraction.” http:// www.craniosacraltherapy.org/History_02.htm

How does it claim to work?

The theory behind craniosacral therapy is that when blockages occur in spinal fluid, an unharmonious balance in the body can occur, resulting in muscle and joint strain, emotional disturbances, and the improper operation of the body’s organs and central nervous system. They believe ‘energy’ is the reality that undergirds all nature and may be manipulated.

What were their beliefs?

Like Qi and Prana, this contact with the Breath of Life changed his treatment focus to spiritual reverence and subtle touch.

Who is their god or gods?

He says,” rules out the presence of God or Spirit or Chi/Qi or a Breath of Life as a deeper cause.” The god of “Pantheism.

What is the occult potential?

You can get demons. The Relationship Between Vital Energy and the Human Brain and Nervous System,” meaning your central nervous system can get affected. The Biblical / Christian Evaluation / Scriptures

(As a side note, Emmanuel Swedenborg was a Theosophist known for his occultist writings, as found on the following website: http://www.crossroad.to/Quotes/occult/theosophy-swedenborgblake. htm) (CST is a form of “energetic medicine”; you find this all over the Internet. The following website says this is about energetic medicine: http://www.nwhealth.edu/healthyU/liveNaturally/emed.html “ Born out of the awareness that the study of quantum physics has given us about the reality of energy as a force in the universe, energetic (or vibrational) medicine attempts to influence the fields of energy that have been determined to exist and measured around and through our bodies…
