Why God does not accept Applied Kinesiology

Applied kinesiology is often presented as a form of alternative medicine, but its spiritual roots and practices reveal deeper issues incompatible with the Christian faith. Developed in 1964 by Michigan chiropractor George Goodheart, applied kinesiology claims to diagnose energy imbalances and nutritional needs by testing muscle strength. Practitioners push or pull on muscles to detect weakness or strength, supposedly indicating problems in the body.
However, applied kinesiology is not based on medical science. It blends early chiropractic ideas about the body's "Innate Intelligence" with Eastern mysticism, Chinese Taoist concepts of life energy (Qi), and psychic philosophy. These influences are spiritual in nature, not scientific. This makes it fundamentally different from legitimate kinesiology—the scientific study of muscle movement in relation to anatomy and biomechanics.
The Bible warns strongly against turning to mystical or occult sources for knowledge and healing. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 says, “There shall not be found among you anyone who... practices divination or interprets omens... For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord.”
Applied kinesiology, while disguised as healthcare, seeks hidden knowledge about the body through spiritual means—similar to divination.
Christians must understand that even if a practice seems helpful or harmless, its source and spiritual implications matter. 2 Corinthians 11:14 reminds us that “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” Just because muscle testing appears effective doesn’t mean it is from God. In Acts 16:16, Paul confronted a slave girl who could predict the future through a spirit. Though her words were accurate, her power was demonic.
Applied kinesiology encourages reliance on unseen energies and human intuition, rather than on God’s truth and discernment. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Seeking healing and guidance from spiritual sources outside of God leads to deception.
In conclusion, applied kinesiology is not merely an alternative health method—it is spiritually rooted in practices the Bible condemns. Christians are called to avoid all forms of divination and to seek healing and wisdom through prayer, Scripture, and sound, God-honoring medical care. Our trust should rest in Jesus Christ, the true source of life, truth, and healing.
Christians exposing the occult, cult, and new age practices
Ways to discern occult practices and you can discern occult practices in the bible
Methods of discernment:
• Who was the founder of this modality?
• What was his/her spirituality?
• What culture did it come out of?
• What were their beliefs?
• Who is their God or gods?
Many occult practices in Christianity need to be discerned. Another method of discernment is the word of God. The word of God is our measuring stick. The more we read the word, know the word, and have a relationship with the Lord, the more we will discern right and wrong. We perish from a lack of knowledge.
